Karl-Anthony Towns Reveals Potential Positional Switch For the 2025/26 NBA Season
Oct 6, 2025
Karl-Anthony Towns had a fantastic campaign in his first season with the Knicks, and while they fell short in the Eastern Conference Finals, this is a team that's set to contend in 2025-26. During this offseason, they made several additions, including Guerschon Yabusele, who is set to be a key piece of their bench unit.
That's led to some major lineup questions around New York, with the team potentially set to start either Deuce McBride or Mitchell Robinson to shake things up from a year ago. That's going to affect everyone on the team, with Josh Hart likely the player to make room if a change is made. Now, Towns has revealed how it will affect him.
According to the star center, he's lost some weight this offseason in an attempt to prepare himself for minutes at power forward in case the team utilizes Robinson more now that he's healthy.
New Head Coach Mike Brown has not confirmed nor denied that he'll be making some changes to the lineup ahead of the new campaign, but clearly, KAT sees something coming as he has prepared himself to go against some of the top power forwards in the league this year. Ultimately, the Knicks have great depth, versatility, and flexibility heading into the new campaign, and having someone like Towns at the 4 or 5 helps that a lot, so don't be shocked if he gets significant minutes at both positions throughout the 2025-26 campaign.
