Stephen Curry Addresses All the Warriors Trade Rumors Circulating

The Golden State Warriors are back in the news. With the recent reports that Giannis Antetokounmpo is asking out of Milwaukee, the Warriors are smack dab in the middle of the Giannis trade rumors. Speculation like that can often affect the players on the team involved in the rumors.

Stephen Curry was asked about all the rumors and speculation, and he couldn’t help but give an honest reply.

“I think our job is to keep winning games and keeping our energy as high as we can. We’re not ignorant of what’s going on around the league, rumors, trade talks, who’s on the block, and all that type of stuff. I know what’s going on, but right now it’s just about trying to continue to win, because if we lose sight of that on the court, all that other stuff doesn’t really matter.

We’ve always had an expectation, myself and Draymond, just knowing the conversations we have all the time. I don’t ever get into hypotheticals. It’s a waste of time. It’s a waste of energy. It’s not my job to do that. Mike (Dunleavy) and the entire front office, I’m sure, are making calls, taking looks, and seeing what’s going on.”

Curry knows how big the implications of some of these trade rumors are, but he also knows that they are just rumors. Until the Warriors are knocking on the door of actually getting a deal done, Curry wants to stay focused on the task at hand.

For Curry and the Warriors, not letting the trade rumors bleed into their play is super important. They currently sit in a precarious position in the Western Conference standings, and letting rumors lead to losses could be detrimental to their playoff chances.
