Steph, LeBron, And Giannis? Bombshell Report Claims That Warriors Are Targeting Blockbuster Acquisitions This Summer

There’s no other way to put it: The Golden State Warriors are in desperation mode right now.

Despite the potent 25–20 record that keeps them within striking distance of an outright playoff spot, the Warriors face a pressure that is unprecedented in their current era. While they’ve endured devastating injuries and humiliating Finals setbacks before, one key factor makes a difference in the dire straits they face today.

Here’s the difference: Steph Curry is as close as ever to the end of his career. As difficult as it is to swallow for Warriors fans, the day when they will no longer see Curry swishing threes inside Chase Center is fast approaching.

No one should be surprised, then, that a new report has the Warriors swinging for the fences. According to insider Jake Fischer, the Dubs front office is looking to bring in not one, but two blockbuster names to the Bay Area.

"Sources say that the Warriors naturally do plan to feature prominently in the trade mix for Milwaukee's Antetokounmpo if he truly becomes available via trade this offseason," Fischer wrote on Thursday. "While also exploring the prospect of teaming James with Stephen Curry at last, once LeBron becomes an unrestricted free agent on June 30."

There are a number of words that come to mind here: too old, too expensive, too late. Make no mistake about it, though: a trio of Steph Curry, LeBron James, and Giannis Antetokounmpo would be a superteam.

While countless NBA players have looked like a shell of their former selves as they neared the end of their careers, Curry and James have bolstered their claim to greatness by staying prolific in the 2025–26 season. In his 17th year in the league, Curry is averaging 27.1 points and 5.1 assists per game while shooting 46.8% from the field. James, who is playing an unprecedented 23rd season, continues to stuff stat sheets with 22.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg, and 7.0 apg.

As for Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks’ shoddy record is hardly indicative of the fact that he is still in his prime. The Greek Freak (28.2 ppg, 9.9 rpg, 5.6 apg) would most certainly be the number one option on offense if this Dream Team-like trio were to be assembled in Golden State.

The logistics, of course, need to work out: Milwaukee will have to agree to a package put together by Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr., and the cap space would somehow have to accommodate the salaries of these highly decorated former MVPs. But, if there were ever an organization with a drastic need to create an ensemble for their franchise player, it would be the Warriors in 2026.
