Warriors' Star Doesn't Believe Team Will Trade Jimmy Butler Soon

The Golden State Warriors might need to make a difficult decision. Jimmy Butler is out for the season (and likely part of next) with an ACL tear. The Warriors are still trying to compete around Stephen Curry, and having Butler on the bench isn’t going to help their chances.

The Butler trade rumors started up minutes after he went down with an injury. But will the Warriors really deal a player right after he gets hurt?

Draymond Green shared his opinion on whether the Warriors will trade Jimmy Butler this season.

"And, you know, I saw some reports yesterday, like, ‘The Dubs will look to trade Jimmy.’ Like, stop. No one in our organization is moving that fast. It’s just not how it works. There’s a human element to this organization that is always weighed in. No one in this organization is moving that fast. Just not how we operate." "Um, so people coming out like, ‘Oh man, they’re looking to trade Jimmy,’ like you have these—these—I want to call them reporters, but you can't necessarily—I won’t use that term so loosely because there’s a lot of reporters that I respect and that do this job with integrity. That do this job. They do the—they do the work, and I respect them. So I won’t call them reporters."

It’s always difficult to decide whether it is OK to trade a player who was injured playing hard for your organization. Obviously, injuries happen, and there’s nothing you can do about them. Still, how a team treats its injured players is very important.

The Warriors consider themselves a classy, top-notch organization. Even if trading Butler is the right move for their team, the organization won't want to show the league that they don't care for their injured players. The Warriors are in a sticky situation, and they don't have any easy way out.
