Golden State Warriors Seeking Reunion With Two-Way Star

The Golden State Warriors haven't been off to the best start in 2025–26, and while they've somewhat turned things around as of late, this is a team that's still got major question marks. Those questions grew louder recently when superstar forward Jimmy Butler tore his ACL, with the team confirming that he will miss the remainder of the 2025–26 campaign.

Since that point, the Warriors have been linked to several moves, and while Jonathan Kuminga could fill that role that Butler played, the most likely scenario is for the team to now go out and make a big trade. We've already seen them linked to several players, and now, Brett Siegel has revealed that the team is interested in a reunion with Andrew Wiggins, one of the players involved in the deal to land Butler from Miami in the first place.

“Other than Murphy, league personnel are linking wings and forwards like Andrew Wiggins and DeMar DeRozan to the Warriors. This is the area in which the Warriors are said to be evaluating the trade market, as the possibility of adding a notable frontcourt talent isn't viewed as a priority over addressing the forward positions.”

Sure, they're still interested in the likes of DeMar DeRozan and Trey Murphy, but given the familiarity they have with Wiggins, he would be a perfect piece for this team to add.

This year, Wiggins is averaging 16 points and 5 rebounds per game, so while he's not playing in career-best form, given what he did for the team back in 2022, it's easy to see why the Warriors could push for a reunion ahead of the trade deadline.
