New York Knicks Reveal Positive Update On Jalen Brunson Injury

The New York Knicks came into 2025–26 expecting to be NBA championship contenders after falling at the final hurdle a season ago, with many believing they are the best team in the East this year. In recent years, they've been building a very impressive core, and now, with their star power and their depth, they once again have full confidence moving forward.

However, this team will only go as far as their captain, Jalen Brunson, will take them, and recently, he suffered a brutal-looking ankle injury in a big loss to the Orlando Magic. Obviously, Knicks fans were sweating over his health, and now, the update has been revealed on No. 11, and for their hopes in 2025–26, it's a fantastic update.

According to reports, it's been determined as a Grade 1 right ankle sprain, meaning that he's been ruled out for their next matchup on Friday, but with an expected recovery time of 1–2 weeks, this is great news for New York. This season, Brunson has once again been off to a great start, averaging 28 points, four rebounds, and seven assists across 11 games, and while the absence is a negative one, it gives other players on this team an opportunity to step up in a major role.

Whether that's Deuce McBride, Tyler Kolek, or another combination, this gives head coach Mike Brown an opportunity to experiment, but within the next few weeks, Brunson should be back at 100% as he recovers from his latest injury over the next few weeks.
