Luka Doncic Snaps Back At Conditioning Criticism

One of the main stories of the offseason has been the shape Luka Doncic has gotten himself into, and the star recently hit back at critics of his conditioning.

It was one of the most shocking moments in NBA history when the Dallas Mavericks traded megastar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. There were no rumors about the move beforehand and the Mavericks didn't invite any other teams to bid on the Slovenian guard.

While there weren't rumors about Doncic's availability, there were reportedly some concerns among the Mavericks about his condition. There were also rumblings the guard's former team didn't like his drinking and hookah habits.

This offseason, Doncic has gotten himself into great shape. Considering that he is still only 26 years old, this should be scary to the rest of the teams in the league. Doncic said of his transformation:

"There have always been questions about my fitness, but I thought I was playing great before too. This year we approached things differently. Last summer was rough, I played until June and then jumped straight into Olympic qualifiers. This time, I had more time and a better plan. It wasn't easy at first, but then it became a habit. We’ll see how it translates to games. I haven’t played since the NBA season ended, and I’ve only just started scrimmaging again."

The Lakers didn't get very far in the playoffs last season but will now have a full season of Doncic. Considering the team also added DeAndre Ayton and Marcus Smart, they should be much better,
