Kristaps Porzingis Says This Could Be His Next Career

In an interview with a Latvian channel, Kristaps Porzingis joked that he might like to try MMA after his professional basketball career is over

When Kristaps Porzingis entered the NBA in 2015, no one could have expected him to be anything else but a basketball player. While he is incredibly tall and athletic, he also is rail thin. And that is not the kind of frame one would want to take into a professional fighting career.

The Latvian superstar is, of course, aware of his limitations, but he talked about how much he loves the sport of MMA during an appearance on Sporta Centrs:

"MMA is a sport that is very close to my heart. Number one in terms of viewing. It is something that I am passionate about, which is why I decided to participate in a new MMA project. Everything is still in progress – when we get closer to the final result, I will be able to tell you more.” "This summer I played a little tennis and padel tennis - very good sports in the summer, especially in the fresh air. I have also tried my hand at MMA, but I promised one of the clubs I represented that I would not do it during my career. I am sayung uo to start an MMA career after the bass."

Porzingis' career came full-circle witha 2024 NBA Championship win. But that doesn't mean the Latvian star is going to stop pushing ahead. Porzingis will join Trae Young in a wide-open Eastern Conference this year.
