Kawhi Leonard Reveals The Los Angeles Clippers Biggest Issue Right Now
Nov 26, 2025
The Los Angeles Clippers may be the story of the 2025–26 NBA season thus far, but that's not a good thing, as they have started their new campaign with a record of 5–13 through their first 18 games played. The team was old coming into the year, and with injuries and inconsistency, they've just struggled to find any positives early in the year.
While they still have superstar forward Kawhi Leonard leading the way, he has appeared in just 7 of those 18 games, with James Harden left to do all the heavy lifting. However, Leonard was recently asked about what the team needs to do to turn it around, and his response was surprising.
“Just gotta get the right lineups on the court, I guess. Get some more talent. Play with better talent and see what happens.”
It's unclear exactly how Leonard is going to play with “better talent,” as he's been on the floor for less than 50% of the team's games to this point, with the “more talent” he refers to likely being him getting healthy. Leonard's tenure in Los Angeles has been full of question marks, what ifs, and excuses from the former Finals MVP, and once again, it appears as though he's deflecting blame elsewhere in this interview.

Ultimately, this is a team that's simply too old to compete in the modern NBA, and with few assets to go out and acquire more talent, change and improvement need to come from within, and that starts with Leonard.
