Indiana Pacers Injuries Keep Piling Up; Two More Big Names To Miss Time

Despite reaching the NBA Finals a year ago, the Indiana Pacers are off to a rough start in 2025–26, with the team sitting at 0-3 to start the new year. Unfortunately, they've faced some very stiff competition in that time, with losses to OKC, Minnesota, and Memphis, with the team coming into the season without star point guard Tyrese Haliburton.

Not only that, but they've now got a growing list of injury issues early in the year, and it could have some long-term effects on their chances in 2025–26.

Firstly, the team is now set to miss forward Obi Toppin for up to a month, as the former lottery pick is battling through a hamstring injury.

Then, talented guard Bennedict Mathurin is considered week-to-week with a foot injury, with the rotation taking some brutal hits in recent times.

On top of all of that, Andrew Nembhard has also been ruled out for their next game against the Dallas Mavericks, with the Pacers down no less than four key rotation players, all after losing long-term big man Myles Turner in free agency.

Despite these injuries, this is a team that believes it can compete in the Eastern Conference this season, but to do so, it'll need to get healthy in a hurry. Only time will tell if they can get that done or not, but for now, their focus will be staying afloat until the key pieces of their lineup get back, but with a tough schedule ahead, that's much easier said than done.
