Giannis For Herro, Ware, Wiggins, And Picks? Bill Simmons Thinks That This Bucks-Heat Trade Could Work

As Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to hash out his future in Milwaukee, multiple trade proposals have made their rounds on the internet. Last week, one NBA insider brought up a trade package for one Eastern Conference team that is looking to make a serious push for the Finals this season.
Speaking on his self-titled podcast, Bill Simmons claimed to have gotten intel on two proposals that could possibly send Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat. While Simmons didn’t care much for one of those proposals, the other trade idea caught his fancy.
“I think the more likely one is the three brothers [Giannis, Thanasis, and Alex] for Herro; Ware, who’s good; Wiggins; and picks,” Simmons said.
Simmons, who happens to be a super fan of the Heat’s longtime nemesis, the Boston Celtics, laid out the advantages of this trade for Milwaukee. “With Herro, I’m getting a top-45 guy in the league who can put up 25 a night. I’m getting a really good young center, who has shocked me by how he’s progressed this year. I’m not positive he’s perfect with Bam.”
It will take a gargantuan effort to turn all the Giannis trade chatter into reality, but the proposal outlined by Simmons does have its merits. As he laid out, the Bucks would get two young pieces in Tyler Herro and Kel’el Ware to begin a rebuild. If they decide to keep Andrew Wiggins in this scenario, they’d be beefing up their locker room with a veteran presence and championship experience.

The most fascinating part about this deal, of course, would be the draft picks. By acquiring draft capital from the Heat, Milwaukee can have more leeway to reshape its future the way it wants to.
Antetokounmpo, of course, is no stranger to the Heat, having squared off against this squad multiple times in the postseason. Yet another fascinating “what-if” scenario is his potential fit within the Heat’s new system on offense, which has cut down on conventional pick-and-roll action and leaned more heavily on constant ball and man movement.
Would the thought of playing in South Beach be enough for Antetokounmpo to leave behind the only NBA team he’s ever played for? With the trade deadline just two months away, the picture painted by Simmons might end up playing out.
