Draymond Green Explains Why Michael Jordan Isn't the NBA's GOAT

The NBA GOAT debate will never end. Once, people were talking about Bill Russell or Wilt Chamberlain. Then Magic Johnson or Larry Bird. Now, everyone is debating whether Michael Jordan or LeBron James is the greatest basketball player ever.

While many believed Jordan had the GOAT title after his retirement, LeBron’s career has people wondering if Jordan’s reign has ended. LeBron continues to stack career accolades and statistics as he plays into his 40s. It is pretty incredible.

Still, LeBron has a lot more scars on his career than Jordan—particularly NBA Finals losses. Jordan is 6-0 when reaching the Finals, while LeBron is 4-6. Three of those six NBA Finals losses are against the Golden State Warriors.

That’s why some people were shocked when Draymond Green went on Kai Cenat’s livestream and explained why LeBron, not Michael Jordan, is the GOAT.

Draymond’s reasoning came down to the fact that LeBron made NBA Finals teams with way worse teammates. He included that LeBron was winning with Matthew Delladova while Jordan always had Scottie Pippen at his side.

Many people criticize Draymond for his close relationship with LeBron James. So it isn’t all that surprising that he named LeBron, one of his good buddies, the GOAT.

The question is, is he right? LeBron may have had some weaker players on some of his teams, but he also got to handpick his teammates for the majority of his career. So, as always, it’s hard to definitively say who the NBA’s GOAT is. However, it is no surprise at all that Draymond thinks his good friend LeBron James has taken the top spot in that debate.
