Anonymous NBA Executive Compares Jonathan Kuminga to top Timberwolves Star

This off-season has been a wild ride thus far in the NBA, but one story that we haven't yet seen resolved is the situation with Jonathan Kuminga and the Golden State Warriors. The team doesn't want to trade him and has made offers to keep him around, but thus far, the 22-year-old has made it clear he wants out, leading to a major standstill between the two parties.

Thus far, there's been interest from both Phoenix and Sacramento in a potential trade, but again, the Warriors have stuck firm to their offer of two years, $45 million. Now, an anonymous NBA executive has given their opinion, revealing that they'd give Kuminga a five-year deal worth $125 million.

Not only that, but he has given a comparable, noting that the belief is that Kuminga is more talented with a higher ceiling than Jaden McDaniels, who signed a five-year, $131 million deal in Minnesota.

“McDaniels is great in his role, but J.K. is more talented and has higher upside if he ever can hit.”

Obviously, there are still many executives out there who see Kuminga as a star of the future, and given the current state of interest in him as a trade piece, it's not hard to guess where these comments may have come from.

With so much talent, it's easy to see why Golden State won't part with Kuminga, but if the team doesn't give him a long-term deal soon, it may end up being in both of their best interests to simply move on from the 22-year-old.
