Bones Hyland Officially Signs His Newest Deal With a Western Conference Contender

The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the top contenders in the Western Conference, and with depth and stars at every position, the 2025/26 season could be their year. While all eyes go to Julius Randle, Anthony Edwards, and Rudy Gobert, this team has great depth, and now, they've secured another depth piece ahead of the new campaign.

After reports that they were interested in a reunion with Bones Hyland, the young guard has now officially signed a new deal to return to Minnesota for the 2025/26 season after playing in four games with them a season ago.

The 25-year-old was a first-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, and while he's not lived up to that hype yet, he's shown he can be a solid contributor when given the opportunity. In his first two seasons in the NBA, Hyland averaged double digits for Denver and Los Angeles, and while his role has been limited since then, he can be an effective player on both ends of the court.

Last season, Hyland appeared in just four games for Minnesota, playing four minutes a night in that time, and while he's not up for a major role in 2025/26, he can be a good depth piece for a loaded backcourt. As of right now, the Timberwolves head into the new season with Mike Conley, Anthony Edwards, Rob Dillingham, and Donte DiVincenzo, and if any of those players go down and miss time, Hyland is a fantastic depth option who can step up when needed.
