Brooklyn Nets Address Recent Viral Comments From Michael Porter Jr.

Michael Porter Jr. was traded by the Denver Nuggets this summer, with the team seeing Cam Johnson as a major upgrade around Nikola Jokic moving forward. Not only is Johnson a better fit on the floor, but we've seen that since Porter Jr. departed the Nuggets, he’s been making some outlandish and frankly outrageous comments across different interview platforms.

Those comments have brought very negative views upon MPJ and, by extension, the Brooklyn Nets, the team that will employ him in 2025/26 and beyond.

Now, in comments from General Manager Sean Marks, he reveals that the organization has expressed their frustration toward the talented forward and some of the comments he's made.

“I mean, he knows where the organization stands on certain issues and topics, and you know, this market is a little different than where he was.”

In his comments, Marks cites the market of New York as a major market, and although they aren't the Knicks, the spotlight on Porter is now way bigger than it ever was in Denver.

Given that the season is right around the corner, Porter Jr. likely isn't going to be doing any podcasts in the near future, and given his perception already, that's likely a very good thing. Ultimately, Porter's talent on the floor cannot be understated, but given his comments, it's clear why Nuggets fans are excited about a future without him, as the Nets now need to figure out how to get the best out of him while keeping his comments to a minimum.
