Warriors Show Life, Start Second 3-Game Winning Streak of the Season

Have the Golden State Warriors turned things around? Just a few days ago, they were sitting two games below .500, and it seemed like everything was going wrong for the want-to-be contender. Since then, it seems like the Warriors have maybe turned a page.

Steve Kerr has vowed to keep the Warriors' lineup more consistent by sticking with the starting lineup of Curry, Moody, Butler, Green, and Post. The consistency has been working.

The Warriors are now on a three-game winning streak after their Christmas Day win over the Dallas Mavericks. The Warriors took control of the game early on and held onto their lead despite a valiant effort by the Mavericks to stage a comeback. In the end, the Warriors won 126–116, even with Curry having a poor shooting night.

Beating a Mavericks team without Anthony Davis (who went down in the first half with a groin injury) isn’t that impressive. Still, there isn’t an easy win in the Western Conference, and the Warriors have lost much easier games to much worse opponents.

The Warriors also have their schedule finally working in their favor. They went through an absolute gauntlet to start the season, and now their schedule has softened up significantly.

The next three games for the Warriors are against the Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets, and Charlotte Hornets. All of these games should be winnable, and if the Warriors want to start building momentum up the playoff ladder, they really need to be taking these Eastern Conference games as must-wins.

If the Warriors can build on their current success and stay healthy, it could be time for this season to turn around.
