Warriors Could Trade For Former Rival, 2016 NBA Champion, 5-Time All-Star

Will the Golden State Warriors make any trades before the season starts? The Jonathan Kuminga restricted free agency situation is stalling all Warriors trades and signings. Still, they will need to start strengthening their roster sooner rather than later.

One possible Warriors trade target could be a former rival from the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers team. Kevin Love is reportedly still likely to be bought out or traded before the season starts. Should the Warriors take a chance on this former All-Star?
Love saw his production fall in a big way last season. He is down to averaging just 5.3 points and 4.1 rebounds a game. That being said, he was only averaging 10.9 minutes per game and played only 23 games.
If Love were healthy, the Warriors could probably use his production, even if it was in limited minutes. However, it will only really be worth it if he is bought out by the Jazz. If there is a Kevin Love buyout in the next few weeks, the Warriors should consider signing him to a veteran minimum contract.
The Warriors could use Love’s three-point shooting and rebounding. Love averages nearly 37% from three for his career and has a career rebounding average of 9.8 per game. He is also an underrated passer and playmaker. Even though he only averages around two assists a season, Love knows how to pass out of the post. He could thrive in the Warriors' offense.
So, although Love is certainly past being a big-time contributor on a winning team, if he is bought out, the Warriors need to at least consider offering him a veteran minimum contract.
