Stephen Curry Talks About His Animated Movie GOAT
Mar 2, 2026
There are times when athletes take a crack at doing something outside of their sport. Some become investors in tech companies. Some take a swing at starting restaurants. Others test out their creativity with acting or art. It’s always interesting to see what people who have all the money they could ever need decide to do as business or fun ventures outside of their sport.
For Stephen Curry, he has been dabbling in the movie-making business. His production company, Unanimous Media, has been helping produce different types of films for the last few years. Their newest film, GOAT, is in partnership with Sony Pictures Animation. The story follows an anthropomorphic goat who aspires to become the greatest of all time at a basketball-like sport known as roarball. It is loosely inspired by Curry’s NBA story.
Besides just helping produce the movie, Curry also had his voice-acting debut in the movie. He was recently asked about his experience with the GOAT movie by Malika Andrews.
“It’s been awesome. Stepping into that world where you’re able to inspire, storytell through animation, has been great. We’ve been getting a lot of feedback. It’s doing amazing, not only here in the States but around the world. And there were some other athletes who were a part of voicing some of the characters as well. So, it’s been an awesome experience.”

Whatever Curry seems touch, greatness follows. Will his producing and media career be similar to his NBA career? Fans have been flocking to theatres to watch his new movie, and if it is as successful as his NBA career, he may become the second NBA player ever to one day have a league MVP and an Oscar.
