Seth Curry Signs With Warriors, Uniting Him With Brother

It was a Happy Thanksgiving for the Curry family.

The Golden State Warriors officially signed Seth Curry to a one-year contract just several weeks after waiving him due to financial restraints. The signing unites the Curry brothers, making them the fourth brother duo to play on the same NBA team in 2025-26; the others include the Magic’s Franz and Moriz Wagner, the Cavs’ Evan and Isaiah Mosely, and the Bucks’ Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo.

The Warriors have been trying to find another strong three-point shooter to play alongside Steph since losing Klay Thompson. While they added Seth in training camp, the team couldn’t find the cap space to promote him to the main roster. However, enough time has now passed in the season where Seth’s $2.78 million contract is prorated, allowing the Warriors to sign him and stay under the cap limit.

Unlike his brother, who has remained with the Warriors from the start, Seth has jumped around a lot over the course of his career. This will be his 10th move since 2015.

The move wasn’t done just to appease Steph; the Warriors are seeking to improve their shooting. Seth shot 43.8% from beyond the arc during his last two years with the Charlotte Hornets. He also led the NBA with a 45.6% three-point percentage last season. Paired with his brother, the Warriors could become one of the more lethal 3-point shooting teams in the NBA.

The Warriors hope both Currys can right the ship in Golden State. The Warriors' hot start has cooled, leaving them 11-10 after winning four of their first five. Some of that has to do with injuries. Seth will have to wait to share the court with his brother, as Steph is currently sidelined with a quad strain. He is expected to return to the court later this week.
