Eastern Conference Team Has Had Internal Discussions Over Adding Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis made his long awaited return to the NBA over the weekend, with the Dallas Mavericks big man returning to get a crack at his former team and the one that traded him, the Los Angeles Lakers. Unfortunately for Dallas, they came up short in that one, taking their record to 6-15 through 21 games this season, and while he didn't play the second of a back-to-back on Sunday, hopes are high for his health moving forward.

This return however doesn't change the fact that many around the NBA expect Davis to be traded by the Mavericks this season, with the organization pivoting to build around No. 1 overall pick, Cooper Flagg. One team that has been linked to Davis is his home town Chicago Bulls, and while we haven't heard much beyond insiders linking him there, it's a move that would make perfect sense.

Now, Jamal Collier of ESPN has officially reported that the Bulls are having internal discussions about acquiring AD, looking to pair him with the likes of Josh Giddey and Ayo Dosunmu moving forward.

“The Bulls have had internal discussions about how to proceed, including conversations about Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis, sources told ESPN, whom they believe could help the team's porous rim protection and defensive interior.”

That's not to say that the Bulls are rushing out to acquire Davis, especially given the recent question marks over his health, but if the team believe they can contend around AD and Giddey in the Eastern Conference, don't be shocked to see big push for him happen at the deadline.
