Rich Paul Responds to LeBron Saying Today's Game is Harder Than the 80s

As the NBA game evolves and changes, more debates are going to pop up about which players were the best or which eras were the hardest to play in. In reality, it is impossible to know. If you watch a game from the 1980s or 1990s, it almost looks like a completely different game from basketball today. Still, that hasn't stopped players and media members from debating which era was the best or hardest to play in.
LeBron James recently came out and said that playing in today’s NBA is more difficult than playing in the 80s. Then, former NBA coach and '80s NBA player Byron Scott said that LeBron’s comment was "laughable."

LeBron’s agent, Rich Paul, recently spoke about the debate and why he thinks Scott didn’t respond the right way to LeBron’s comments.
"Everybody is going to be biased to the era they played in…. I think coming from someone (LeBron) who played in multiple eras, idk about the word laughable. There is a way you can disagree with somebody without being offensive or disrespectful. Respect, in my opinion, is one of those foundational pillars. Every human should lead with respect, especially when someone has earned that through their productivity or character. I was always taught to respect my elders, but then some days I sit there and I think and see things, but what about when your elders do or say things that actually warrant disrespect? It's been a lot of that going on."
Debates about eras can get pretty feisty. Many players believe that when their era is spoken ill of, so is their career. Obviously, this isn't the case, and everyone just needs to relax. Some things just can't be compared.
