Phoenix Suns Expected To Miss Key Guard For Their Season Opener

The Phoenix Suns struggled mightily last season despite their star power, and this off-season, they went to work changing that in a big way after they failed to meet all of the lofty expectations surrounding them. Not only did they move on from Bradley Beal, but they also traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets, getting a major haul in return for the superstar forward.

One of the key pieces in the return for Durant was former top draft pick Jalen Green, someone that has shown immense talent in Houston but has yet to put it all together. In four seasons, the 23-year old has averaged 20 points on just 42% shooting from the field, but now, he'll take on a much bigger role with the Suns alongside Devin Booker.

Unfortunately for Phoenix, Green is now reportedly set to miss their season opener against the Sacramento Kings on October 22, as he's currently dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered during the pre-season.

The report from Brett Siegel doesn't quite reveal when he'll return or what a timeline looks like for Green, but with Grayson Allen as depth, the team will be hoping to survive Green's absence. Ultimately, Green was a key piece in the return for KD this off-season, and if they end up missing him for any significant time, it could be a major blow to a team that's got an uphill battle against them in the Western Conference this season.
