Patrick Beverley Goes Off on All-Star NBA Point Guard Fueling a New NBA Beef
Sep 19, 2025
Patrick Beverley is beefing again. As an infamous NBA pest and trash talker, he hasn’t stopped creating controversy since leaving to play overseas last season. Much of this has been thanks to his new podcast, The Pat Bev Podcast. Beverley has used this new platform to fire off all his NBA hot takes, and not all have gone over well with his former league-mates.

Beverley was asked on Twitter why he thought players played harder in random pickup games than in the All-Star Game. Beverley responded by saying, “All-Stars take the game for granted.” To which Trae Young responded, “Relax. Let us speak for ourselves.” This implies that Beverley doesn’t get to share his opinion because he isn’t an All-Star.
Here was Beverley’s response:
“I don’t think he’s in a position to speak. I don’t think he’s won enough to even speak to me or tweet me. He’s been to the playoffs three times. I’ve been to the playoffs nine. He’s been in the NBA seven years. My first seven years, I didn’t miss the playoffs at all, in the Western Conference…I’ve talked to people who played in Atlanta. They don’t wanna play there. They don’t think he’s a good leader; they don’t think he’s a good teammate. This is not coming from me… You can score all the points you want. Make all the money you want….If you don’t win, that s*** don’t matter. If you don’t win, when you retire, they're going to forget your name, fast.”
If this doesn’t ignite a Patrick Beverley vs Trae Young beef, nothing will. Beverley not only calls out Young’s lack of team accomplishments, but also calls him a bad leader and teammate.
Regardless of who is right, this newest NBA feud will surely be entertaining.
