Giannis Reveals Which Ex-NBA Star He Wants to Train With Next

Giannis Antetokounmpo is always adding to his repertoire. That’s what great players do. Every offseason, they choose some specific skills they want to improve and train relentlessly to add new layers to their game.

When Giannis entered the league, he had the physical skills but lacked some of the finesse and experience that many of his peers had. So what did he do? He trained with the best of the best to refine his raw talent and become one of the greatest players ever to touch a basketball court.

To learn from the best, Giannis has trained with some of the greatest NBA players of all time. He’s worked with Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, and Hakeem Olajuwon. You can see parts of their game in his. Giannis has Kobe’s fierce mentality and attitude. He has Garnett’s defensive instincts and versatility. And he has Hakeem to thank for many of his incredible post moves and footwork.

In an interview with Sport24, Giannis revealed the former NBA star he hopes to train with next.

“I don’t like working with players who are playing right now. I want to work with young guys and with LeBron, for example. I could work with LeBron, but he’s still playing. I’ll see him in a month or two, and he’ll be my opponent. I like working with players who are retired. I think the next one is Carmelo Anthony. If I could work with Carmelo Anthony, I would love to.”

If Giannis adds Carmelo’s face-up skills and mid-range scoring ability to his game, he will continue to get better and better. Even with multiple MVPs and an NBA championship under his belt, Giannis is still looking at ways to get better.
