Luka Doncic Calls Out The NBA For The NBA Cup Courts
Nov 27, 2025
The NBA Cup is currently in its third season, and while many fans and players don't see any reason for the in-season tournament, it's a fun change that adds some competitiveness to the regular season. For the most part, however, many comments on the NBA Cup revolve around the courts, some of which have ridiculous designs, while others compliment the teams and the game being played.
However, there have been some issues, with players finding the courts to be a little slippery and hard to play on, as many have called the league out over them. That includes Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic, who recently put the NBA on blast for its use of the court that he claims is dangerous for the players.
“Adjust the courts, please. It’s just slippery. It’s dangerous.”
The NBA Cup is the defining addition of Adam Silver to the NBA, so it's unlikely that the Commissioner will make any changes to the way things go, even with some players urging him to move on from the colorful courts. While there's been no major injuries that can be directly attributed to the courts, if things go on the way they currently are, it's a matter of when, not if, that happens.
Despite the slipperiness, the Lakers have dominated the NBA Cup thus far, and after winning the first back in 2023, don't be shocked to see them go deep once again with the return of LeBron James to this loaded team.
