Klay Thompson Labels His Mavericks Teammate The Best of this Generation

Klay Thompson joined the Dallas Mavericks as a free agent last summer, and shockingly, during the season, he became teammates with Anthony Davis after the stunning trade involving Luka Doncic. On paper, alongside Kyrie Irving and Cooper Flagg and their bench depth, this is a deep, fun team that can go a long way, especially if Davis stays healthy.

When addressing the upcoming campaign and his teammates, Thompson had nothing but praise for AD, even going as far as to call him the best power forward of this generation.

“AD, when he's healthy, he is the best power forward, maybe of my generation... I think we personally have the best frontcourt in the NBA when we're healthy. We have so much depth... And then getting a guy like D-Lo and having guard depth, I'm just really excited.”

Not only that, but Thompson notes that he believes the Mavericks front court with AD and Derrick Lively is the best in the entire NBA, with the team clearly thinking they can compete in the West this season. 

However, the main talking point of the quote is calling AD the best power forward of this generation, with many fans quick to point out the multi-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee. Realistically, no one would take Davis over Giannis, who has two MVP's, a Championship and a Defensive Player of the Year award under his belt, and while Davis is a fantastic player, this is just his teammate talking him up a little too much.
