Karl-Anthony Towns Opens Up On His Role With The New York Knicks

Last summer, Karl-Anthony Towns was acquired by the New York Knicks in a move that the organization hoped would be its final one on the way to a long-awaited NBA Championship. Looking purely at the numbers, Towns has been a success with the Knicks, but after he came under scrutiny in the postseason a year ago, he's yet to consistently find his best game for New York.

This season, the team is yet again dominating with a record of 48-27 and the third spot in the Eastern Conference standings, but the question marks remain over Towns. In those 75 games, the 30-year-old has posted 20 points, 12 boards, and 3 assists per game, and if he can put forth effort on the defensive end, he can be a true helper for them in the postseason.

Unfortunately, when recently asked about his role for the Knicks, Towns has now revealed that he is yet to find his true role under Head Coach Mike Brown.

"I'm still trying to figure out where I could impact our team and winning the most."

Given how close the NBA Playoffs are, it doesn't exactly instill excitement and confidence in Knicks fans to hear this, but that doesn't mean there's no time left to figure things out.

At his best, Towns can be a very impactful player on both ends of the floor, but if he can't find his role, 2025/26 may end up as another disappointing year for the Knicks.
