Jayson Tatum Reveals Why He Is Still Travelling With The Boston Celtics

Last season ended in heartbreak for the Boston Celtics, with the team falling to the New York Knicks, but it was the injury to Jayson Tatum that overshadowed even the toughest defeat to their rivals. In Game 4, Tatum went down with an Achilles injury, an injury that often keeps players out for at least 12 months, meaning a return this season is unlikely.

However, Tatum's recovery has shocked many, with some believing that he could play at some point in 2025–26, with the team hoping to stay alive long enough to make that happen. With those hopes high, Tatum has continued travelling with the team early in the season, and now, he's explained his reasons for doing so.

“Not being able to be out there with the team is already tough enough. But still traveling and being with them during meetings and games and practices and shootarounds — trying to feel as much a part of the team as I can — it really helps my mental out a lot.”

Clearly, Tatum is motivated to return this season, and his reasons for traveling with the team make complete sense, as he wants to remain a part of the squad, the same way he has been for his entire NBA career.

At this point in time, it's unclear if we'll see Tatum return at any point during the season, but for now, whether that happens or not, he's staying connected with his teammates ahead of his eventual return.
