Draymond Says He Regrets One of His Fights and It's Not What You Would Expect

Draymond Green has had his fair share of fights during his NBA career. Probably more than anyone else from this most recent generation of players. It is part of what makes Draymond, Draymond. He pushes the envelope. He plays aggressively. And occasionally, he takes that aggression and passion over the line.

Recently on his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, Draymond revealed the one fight he regrets the most.

“I haven’t really had many fights. Um, we've had these moments. I think the one that I regret—I'm not one that lives with regrets, that's not really how I roll, so I don't know that that's the right word—but I think one moment that I really look back on is actually the moment with Jusuf Nurkic, because I actually think that moment cost me an opportunity to win a third gold medal. And so I look back at that one and be like, ‘Man, that sucks.’ But like I said, I don't live my life with any regrets at all. Um, [__] happens. It is what it is. Things still turned out to be pretty fine for me. I can't complain. But I would say looking back on that moment, which is what it is, um, it'd be that one.”

It’s interesting that Draymond doesn’t regret the moment because he thinks it was over the line or immature. He isn’t saying sorry to Jusuf Nurkic for what he did. What Draymond regrets is that his tussle with Nurkic cost him opportunities.

This is pretty classic Draymond stuff. As he said, he doesn’t like to live with regrets. This is the one case where he is allowing it because it may have cost him a shot at making Team USA and grabbing another gold medal.
