Steve Kerr Doesn't Expect Jimmy Butler's Recent Absence to Be an Issue

The Golden State Warriors are finally surging. As of Monday morning, the Warriors have won three games in a row and seven of their last ten. The Warriors had a brutal schedule to start the season, and things are finally starting to even out. They’ve had a nice homestand recently, allowing them to get healthy and build some chemistry with players like De’Anthony Melton and Al Horford.

The other thing that’s been huge for the Warriors is that they’ve been relatively healthy. Up until their game against the Charlotte Hornets, all of their stars had been available.

Then, Jimmy Butler missed the Hornets game at the last minute because of “personal reasons.”

Steve Kerr was asked about whether he expects this to be a lingering issue for Butler.

“I got the word from Mike [Dunleavy] that everything is fine. He just had a personal thing that came up right before the game.”

Just like Kerr said, Butler didn’t make this personal absence a lasting one. He’s off the injury report for the Warriors game against the Miami Heat on Monday night, and the Warriors are going to need him to have a big game against his former team.

The Warriors will play the Heat without two key pieces in Draymond Green and De’Anthony Melton. The Heat won’t have Tyler Herro.

Getting Butler back for this game is huge. Butler hasn’t been blowing anyone’s mind with his statistics this season, but he’s still been essential for the Warriors. Look for him to have a big night after a one-game absence.
