Draymond Green Reflects on Recent Fight With Steve Kerr

It has been well documented that Draymond Green and Coach Steve Kerr got into it on the Warriors’ bench this week. A heated moment between player and coach for all to see obviously brought a lot of questions and scrutiny the Warriors’ way. For Kerr and Draymond, they’ve said it was no big deal. The rest of the world has wondered if they are really telling the whole story.

Draymond Green recently spoke about the fight and how the Warriors are planning to move past it.

"I'm really happy that I left that huddle when I did because then it allowed us yesterday to just move forward and talk about what we needed to talk about and the things that we need to get done with this team. I think we're starting to play a lot better. So, um, it was good to mitigate the damage — mitigate the damages, uh, continue to move on. Uh, we've been together for a very long time, and stuff happens… I think, you know — and in the sport that we play, which is, you know, you — you got to have very high level of testosterone in this sport to compete at a high level. Sometimes things don't — don't quite go that way. But, you know, I think oftentimes, um, Kenny, people look at certain moments and be like, 'Ah, man, that one moment defines everything.' You know, we live in a world where media dominates everything, and people see one moment, and they think that defines everything."

While most people were criticizing Draymond for leaving the Warriors' bench mid-game, Draymond is actually proud of himself. Everyone knows that Draymond’s temper can sometimes get the best of him. Instead of crossing a line, like he’s done in the past, he removed himself from the situation before it could get any worse.

Because the fight didn’t escalate, the Warriors can now move forward and put the conflict behind them. At least they’re going to need to if they want to continue winning and fighting for a spot in the Western Conference playoffs.
