Denver Nuggets Key Role Player Set To Miss Six Weeks Of Action

The Denver Nuggets have been on fire in 2025–26, and with a record of 22–8 through their first 30 games, they sit firmly in the top tier of teams in the Western Conference. They made a major statement on Christmas Day as well, taking out the Minnesota Timberwolves behind an incredible 56-point, 16-rebound, and 15-assist game from MVP favorite Nikola Jokic.

However, they did so without one of their key off-season pickups, as the injury issues officially continue picking up for the loaded Nuggets. Now, they've got some more bad news, as Shams Charania has officially revealed that Cam Johnson will be out for the next six weeks with a bone bruise on his right knee.

Through 28 games this season, Johnson has averaged 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists for Denver, and while he hasn't been as good as they would have hoped, he's played his role alongside Jokic well. With Aaron Gordon already missing significant time, this is another starter who will miss a lengthy period of time for the Nuggets, with the team turning to Tim Hardaway Jr. and Spencer Jones to fill that void.

Even without Gordon, these Nuggets have continued rolling behind Jokic, who is averaging 30, 12, and 11 this season, and if he continues this level of play, he'll no doubt be considered the MVP favorite as the year continues to roll on. Given this, their hopes of another championship are very much alive, and if they can get healthy, things will be even better for this team.
