Damian Lillard Posts Promising Update As He Continues To Recover From Injury
Nov 4, 2025
Last season, Damian Lillard's campaign ended in heartbreak, as he suffered a torn achilles as the Milwaukee Bucks title hopes were crushed in the post-season. As a result of the team wanting to compete around Giannis Antetokounmpo, they quickly moved on from Lillard, who returned home to Portland as a free agent.
Despite likely missing the entire 2025/26 campaign, the Trail Blazers were happy to bring back a franchise great, although there's very little hope that he can play this season. Now however, Lillard has posted a very positive update on his status, with the latest video on social media showing that he is already moving quite well just months after surgery.
As of right now, there's a 99.9% chance that Lillard doesn't take part in the Blazers 2025/26 regular season, but given the solid movement he's showing in this video, it's giving Blazers fans some hope that we may see him sooner than expected.

Without Lillard, Portland are off to a solid start this year under interim Head Coach Tiago Splitter, with the team winning four of their last six games as it appears this young core is preparing to take a major step forward.
As for Lillard, the hope is that he can get back to 100% for the 2026/27 season and beyond, and with a group of young stars like Shaedon Sharpe, Donovan Clingan, Deni Avdija and Toumani Camara for him to return to, hopes are high for the future of this organization.
