Bulls Predicted to Finally Trade Valuable Big Man
Jan 20, 2026
The Chicago Bulls have been in NBA trade rumors every single season. That’s because they are where no team wants to be, stuck in the middle. They haven’t had a legitimate playoff contender in years, and they also haven’t been bad enough to land a top prospect.
This is the Bulls' own fault. They’ve continued to hold onto solid players without getting trade value for them. This has made their teams just good enough not to tank and not good enough to win a playoff series.

Nikola Vucevic is the best example of this. Vucevic has been on the team for six seasons and has been in trade rumors in most years since joining the team. The Bulls continue to hold onto him despite his fit on the team being questionable for years.
Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report made his list of bold 2026 NBA trade predictions, and for the Bulls, he predicted that the team would finally trade their veteran center.
“With his $21.5 million expiring contract and the Chicago Bulls looking destined for another play-in berth, Nikola Vučević seems like one of the most obvious trade chips in the league right now.
Vuč obviously isn't going to make the Bulls contenders right now. And at 35 years old, he might not even be in the league the next time Chicago is on that level.
If the Bulls can get anything for him, they almost have to do it. If he plays out the season and goes to a contender in free agency, Chicago will regret not turning him into a second-round pick and a little more playing time for some of the younger bigs on the roster.”
If the Bulls can finally get rid of Vucevic, it will signal to the league that they are finally serious about starting their rebuild. It could be the first of many Bulls’ dominoes to fall.
