NBA Trade Predictions: Hawks Won't Make Another Big Move

With the NBA trade season fully underway, people are starting to make predictions about all the different moves that might (or might not) be made. With tons of buyers and sellers on each side of the market, each team is going to have to fully analyze its position within the league and decide how best to position itself for success either now or down the road.

Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report made his list of bold 2026 NBA trade predictions, and the Hawks, who have already made a big trade this season, are predicted not to make another big move.

“Atlanta Hawks Will Not Trade for Anthony Davis.” After the Atlanta Hawks sent Trae Young to the Washington Wizards, rumors of a subsequent Anthony Davis deal surfaced quickly.

But after reports that ligament damage in his hand could possibly cost AD several weeks of games (and maybe even require surgery), that deal doesn't just feel unlikely. It almost seems stupid.

Even before his latest injury, Davis was one of the biggest risks in the league on that front. The soon-to-be-33-year-old isn't likely to get more durable as he ages further beyond his prime. His scoring efficiency has absolutely plummeted over the last couple of years. And he wants a massive contract extension before his current (and probably already too big) deal ends in 2028."

A lot of people thought that after the Hawks traded Trae Young, they might make another move to land Anthony Davis. The Hawks already made a move to get a bit younger and a bit more dynamic by moving off of Trae Young. Adding Anthony Davis might be counterintuitive to that. Instead, the Hawks will probably just see what they have without Young and assess what changes might be necessary this offseason.
