Bam Adebayo Gives His Thoughts on Cooper Flagg After Beating the Dallas Mavericks And Their Star Rookie
Nov 25, 2025
Cooper Flagg is just a handful of games into his NBA career, but already, it's clear to see why people were labeling the Dallas Mavericks rookie as a generational prospect heading into the 2025 NBA Draft. Early in his career, Flagg is averaging 16 points, and given the size and skillset, the Mavericks are already considering building their entire future around the 18-year-old.
Others around the NBA are taking notice of his talents as well, and while the team came up short in their last game, Flagg posted 12-7-3 in a tough 106–102 loss to the Miami Heat. His performance caught the eye of veteran Bam Adebayo, who had nothing but good things to say about the future of the 18-year-old in the NBA.
"He's not scared of the moment… He's growing up faster than people think. By the end of the season, I feel like he's going to be one of those ones that's hard to guard because he's going through those moments now."
As a team, the Mavericks are struggling mightily in 2025 as they simply cannot manage to stay healthy or find their consistency, but in Flagg, they have one major shining light for the future of the entire organization.

Only time will tell if Flagg can live up to the hype that was around his name heading into the 2025 NBA Draft, but if players like Adebayo are taking notice of his talents, it's a matter of when, not if, he becomes an All-Star in today's game.
