3 NBA Veterans Cut From France's EuroBasket Team

On Friday, Team France announced that it had waived 3 NBA veterans from its roster: Oklahoma City Thunder forward Ousmane Dieng, Charlotte Hornets forward Moussa Diabate, and former New York Knicks guard Frank Ntilikina.

No team has built up an incredible roster faster than Team France. The team is absolutely loaded for the EuroBasket tournament with players like Victor Wembanyama. Alexandre Sarr, Zaccharie Risacher, Bilal Coulibaly, and Guerschon Yabusele.

With so much talent on the team and also European players who excel in these kind of tournaments, France has to make some cuts. And the team is so impressive, that the 3 players cut have pretty impressive resumes.

Ousmane Dieng, who was selected 11th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, recently won a championship ring as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. He is currently a bit player for a loaded Thunder team. In 2024-25 he averaged 10.9 minutes per game with 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds.

Moussa Diabate was also selected in that 2022 draft, 43rd overall by the Los Angeles Clippers after playing at the University of Michigan. Diabate had his best season as a pro with the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 17.5 minutes a game.  He set career highs with 5.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Ntilikina has long been known to basketball fans as he was selected 8th overall by the New York Knicks in 2017. A project with enornous potential, Ntilikina was never able to carve out a full-time gig in the NBA and now plays for Partizan in the ABA League. This cut is another blow to his career.
