Washington Wizards Could Target Pelicans Star 'If The Price Is Right'

The Washington Wizards are a young, ascending team in the Eastern Conference, and after acquiring Trae Young for a fairly low return, it's clear that they're looking to take a step forward. With young names like Kyshawn George, Bilal Coulibaly, and Alex Sarr, the team has the assets to make another upgrade, and if they can do that, the future will be looking much brighter.

Now, they've reportedly zeroed in on some trade targets, with one report revealing that if the price is right, Zion Williamson could be the perfect acquisition.

“Williamson would be someone the Wizards would have to consider if the price is right.”

According to Joshua Robbins, the team has its eyes on Williamson, and if the Pelicans could let him go for a price similar to Young, he'd be an incredible pickup to pair with Young, George, Sarr, and Coulibaly. Despite being a former No. 1 overall pick, the market for Williamson isn't exactly robust, and given his injury history, it's safe to say that the Pelicans aren't likely to get a haul for him and would prefer to simply move on from him.

In 29 games this season, Williamson has averaged a solid 22.5 points alongside 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game, and while he hasn't been a star for New Orleans, perhaps with a change of scenery, he could live up to his potential, and that would be the Wizards' hope if they made a deal.
