Minnesota Timberwolves Showing Interest In Three Chicago Bulls
Jan 21, 2026
The Minnesota Timberwolves are often overlooked as a contender in the Western Conference, but beyond Oklahoma City, they've got as good a chance as any other team in 2025–26. With a record of 27–17 through their first 44 games played, this is a team that's set up well for success, but that doesn't mean they aren't eyeing some upgrades.
Already this year, they've been linked to some major moves ahead of the trade deadline, and now, they're reportedly eyeing three players from the Chicago Bulls as potential acquisitions.
"Another trade partner for the Bulls to keep an eye on is the Timberwolves. They have star guard Anthony Edwards and his supporting cast of center Rudy Gobert and forwards Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels, and Naz Reid locked up for at least the next three seasons, but they have been shopping for a combo guard to play off Edwards, especially in the fourth quarter of games. The Sun-Times reported last month that the teams talked about a deal for White, but the Timberwolves also have inquired about Ayo Dosunmu and Tre Jones, too."
According to Joe Cowley, the Timberwolves are eyeing Coby White, Tre Jones, and Ayo Dosunmu, with all three representing potentially major upgrades in their backcourt.

Ultimately, any of the three would be fantastic pickups for a Minnesota team that's in need of a major upgrade at the point guard spot, and if they could land any, it only strengthens their case as contenders in 2025–26.
