Warriors Trade Idea Sends Draymond Green Away For Recent Finals MVP
Sep 8, 2025
The Golden State Warriors may need to spice things up. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler are all on the wrong side of their prime. The Warriors may need to take a risk by making a big trade to infuse some young talent onto their roster.
The Sporting News’ Tyler Rourke proposed a Warriors trade idea that would bring in the ideal young star to extend Curry’s prime.
“Adding help alongside Curry by bringing in a guy like Jaylen Brown could be beneficial, allowing Curry to have some help on the offensive side of the ball.
All it would take is Draymond Green, Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski, and Gui Santos, in exchange for the Finals MVP.
The Boston Celtics may be open to trades now that Jayson Tatum is out for the season, and could use this upcoming year to re-strategize."

This Warriors trade idea is a total long shot. The Boston Celtics have reportedly taken calls on possible Jaylen Brown trades, but all indications are that they aren’t interested in moving him.
Brown is a Finals MVP and, with Jayson Tatum out, is by far the best player on the Celtics roster next season. So, the chances they would trade a player of Brown’s stature for an aged Draymond Green and a few solid role players are quite low.
If the Warriors ever had the opportunity to land a player like Brown for a trade package that looks like this, they need to jump on it immediately. Everyone wants Draymond to retire a Warrior, but if it’s the team can get another star, he is expendable.
