Jordan Clarkson Reveals Why He Joined the New York Knicks This Off-Season
Sep 8, 2025
Jordan Clarkson was one of the big off-season pickups for the New York Knicks, and given how productive they need their bench to be in 2025/26, he's the perfect fit for the current iteration of this team. Clarkson is expected to join a bench of Deuce McBride, Guerschon Yabusele and Mitchell Robinson among others, with the Knicks heading into 2025/26 with one of the deepest benches they've had in quite some time.
Now, on the latest episode of The Roommates Podcast hosted by Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, Clarkson revealed his motivation behind wanting to join the Knicks.
“The arena [MSG], honestly. Feeling the energy from the fans. Knowing they’re going to let you have it if you’re playing like s–t. But when you’re playing great, it’s all love. At the end of the day, I just want to feel the energy. Get to play with y’all [Brunson and Hart]."
For years now, Madison Square Garden has been the favourite road arena of a majority of players in the NBA, and with the Knicks now finding success, other teams are taking notice of the love these players are getting from the Garden crowd. Clarkson is a player they'll love too, as he often brings a hot hand off the bench, and if the starters need a spark, a scoring guard like Clarkson is just what they'll be looking for.

Only time will tell if Clarkson is a piece that can help the Knicks get back to the NBA Finals, but given his skillset and his fit with the Knicks team, it's going to be looked back on as a great signing for New York.
