Former Heat Guard Mario Chalmers Disrespects Steph Curry With Ridiculous Ranking
Sep 15, 2025
NBA history and rankings of players and positions are all very subjective, giving fans and former players plenty to talk about, especially during the NBA off-season. For most, however, there are consistent points, with MJ vs. LeBron becoming the respected G.O.A.T. conversation, with players like Steph Curry climbing into the top-10 of all-time chatter.
One thing that can't be denied at this point is that Curry is a top-five point guard of all time, with the general consensus being that he and Magic Johnson are competing for the top two spots.
Beyond that, there's plenty of room for discussion, but according to former Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers, Curry doesn't even find his way into the top-five. During a recent podcast appearance, Chalmers ranked his top five point guards in NBA history, giving this list that somehow didn't include the Warriors' superstar.
Magic Johnson
Chris Paul
John Stockton
Jason Kidd
Kyrie Irving
On paper, all five of those players are absolute stars, with many finding their way into the history books, but given that Curry was the NBA's first-ever unanimous MVP, as well as a four-time champion, it's ridiculous to leave him off such a list.

For many fans, Curry is well on his way to passing Johnson as the NBA's all-time greatest shooter, as well as a multiple-time MVP, raising questions as to why Chalmers is so biased against him. Sure, he beat Chalmers' former teammate LeBron James in the NBA Finals several times, but Chalmers wasn't a part of those teams, so it's unclear why he has this opinion, but it's one that's been called out and criticized plenty in recent days.
