Former NBA Draft Bust Calls Out Bronny James For Lack of Talent
Oct 7, 2025
Does Bronny James deserve to play in the NBA? It is a question that everyone has been asking since he entered the league a year ago. With his dad being one of the greatest NBA players of all time, it is hard not to believe that he’s gotten some special treatment to land himself on an NBA roster.
In his first NBA season, he averaged 2.3 points in 6.7 minutes per game. He shot only 31.3% from the field and 28.1% from three-point range.

Former first-round pick Kwame Brown recently spoke on his show, Kwame Brown Bust Life, about whether Bronny deserves an NBA roster spot.
“This ain't year one. This is year two. This is year two. This don't make no sense. We got high school players better than Bronny. Absolutely, got high school players better than Bronny. Bronny was never the best high school player on his team. He was never the best college player on his team. And he still gets 12 shots in a preseason game where everybody's auditioning, where nobody normally passes the ball. Everybody trying to get their [__] off cuz it's new people out there. It ain't just you…And for every young man that think that you can just be the president or you can get in the league and you gonna get a fair shake at it. I think LeBron James situation just proved. [__] the narrative that they tried to say, 'Oh, it's nepotism.' No, I think this LeBron James situation just proved that politics is in everything. Politics is in everything. Politics is in sports. It's in — It's in everything. It's at your job, my job. It's in everything. It's all about politics.”
Kwame probably isn’t wrong. There is no way a player with Bronny’s stats and trajectory deserves to be getting this much leash. That being said, there’s nothing anyone can do about it. LeBron James has been the face of the league for decades, and Bronny gets to reap those benefits.
