Trae Young Addresses Potential Extension With the Atlanta Hawks

For eight years now, Trae Young has been one of the most impressive performers in the entire NBA, establishing himself as an elite point guard and one of the best offensive players in the league. This season, Young is off to a red-hot start, averaging 21 points and seven assists through three games, and while his team, with its young core, is just 1-2, hopes are high after adding some great talents to this team over the past few years.

Despite all of this, the team hasn't yet made up its mind on an extension for Young, despite the star guard being eligible for a four-year, $229 million max extension. After taking the team to the Eastern Conference Finals and making them a competitive team, they have yet to commit to Young, and some believe it could take a toll this season.

Now, the star guard has addressed that situation, stating that it's out of his control, but he continues to try and push this team toward becoming a winning squad, and if he does that, winning may cure everything.

"I think it's going to be great. I'm not worried about it. As much as I wish it was, it's not all in my hands, and I can't control everything. I just can only control the present. And I know if we win, everybody eats ... I understand what winning can do."

Over his career with the Hawks, Young has averaged 25 points a night along with 10 assists and four rebounds, and while the Hawks haven't committed to him yet, Young is focused on making this team into a winner, and if he does that, everything else will take care of itself.
