Steve Kerr Talks About His Excitement About Bringing Back De'Anthony Melton

The Golden State Warriors could use a little boost. As of Tuesday, they are sitting at 11–10, which is good for the 8th seed in the Western Conference. This isn’t exactly where the Warriors were hoping they’d be a quarter through the season. With Stephen Curry set to miss at least the next few games, the Warriors are going to need some role players to step up in a big way.

While he won’t likely fix all of the Warriors' problems, there is one player set to return who could make a big impact. De’Anthony Melton should be returning within the next few games for the Warriors after missing most of last season and the beginning of this one with a knee injury.

Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr recently spoke about Melton’s return.

"I'm really excited to get Melton back. It's exciting to think about plugging him in because he's another two-way player and a guy who can play at a high level and survive well on both ends."

While Melton is far from the star help the Warriors probably need, he is a solid player who can make a huge difference on both sides of the floor for the Warriors. For one, he is another veteran with experience and a high basketball IQ. Additionally, he is a great shooter and defender, two skills the Warriors have been lacking this season.

When Melton played for the Warriors last year, they were one of the best teams in the league. That was only for eight games, but if he can bring a similar magic to the team this year, the Warriors could breathe a huge sigh of relief.
