Stephen Curry Praises Long-Time Teammate For Defensive Efforts

When you think of Stephen Curry, you think of the greatest shooter of all time. You also think of Draymond Green. Those two have been linked since the beginning of Green’s career. Their connection on the court has allowed both of them to reach huge levels of success. It’s also helped the Golden State Warriors win four NBA championships.

While Green has always been known as a defensive ace, there have been questions lately about whether he is slipping defensively. Curry was asked about Draymond's defense efforts this year, and this is what he said:

“Physically looks a little different, but the same impact defensively guarding five guys, talking, communicating, making those extra effort plays. He's kind of out of position. He seems to always be in the right spot. It's kind of uncanny what he does. And there's a reason he can be as versatile as he is because he has high IQ. That's the thing that's the most consistent. It looks a little different compared to earlier this year.”

Curry believes that Draymond is still able to defend at a high level. This is important because Curry’s approval may be one of the few things that is keeping Draymond on the team. There are multiple people around the league who believe Draymond’s decline is really hurting the Warriors.

The Warriors are no longer a contending team, and Draymond’s turnovers and inability to score efficiently are starting to hurt the team more than they ever have. But, as long as Curry still believes in Draymond, he isn’t going anywhere. That’s what over a decade of trust and respect will earn you.
