Luka Doncic Makes NBA History With Red-Hot Start To The 2025/26 Season

For years in Dallas, Luka Doncic was one of the greatest offensive players that the NBA had ever seen, and then, he was shockingly dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers. Since that move, the Slovenian superstar has taken his game to another level entirely, and alongside Austin Reaves, he has the Lakers humming early in 2025–26.

According to reports, he has made plenty of NBA history early in the season, and that continued after his latest performance, as he is the quickest player by games played to reach 500 points, 100 assists, and 100 rebounds in a season. The only other player to achieve that in such a short span? Luka Doncic with the Mavericks back in 2022, showing just how incredible the star point guard has been throughout his career thus far.

As a result of Doncic's start to the season, the Lakers are sitting at 15–5 through their first 20 games, and while LeBron James hasn't been on fire since his return, Doncic has become the clear face of the franchise.

In that stretch, Doncic is averaging 35 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds per game, as he is potentially on his way to the first MVP award of his NBA career thus far. There's plenty of competition for that award, however, with the likes of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic at their best once more, but as of right now, it's hard to deny just what an offensive force that Doncic has become in Los Angeles.
