Luka Doncic Goes Down With Multiple Injuries; Set To Miss A Week of Action
Oct 27, 2025
The Los Angeles Lakers are off to a big start in 2025–26, and after Austin Reaves' incredible performance on Sunday, optimism is very high for this squad. However, it's not all been positive through three games, with the team allowing 116 points — defensive numbers that simply don't look championship caliber early in the year.
On top of that, the team got some bad news on star point guard Luka Doncic, with ESPN announcing that, due to two separate injuries, he will miss at least a week before being reevaluated.
According to the report, Doncic is dealing with a finger sprain on his left hand as well as a leg contusion, and while the injury may keep him out longer than a week, that's the evaluation period the team has currently given. This comes with the team also missing LeBron James, meaning that after his 51-point explosion against the Kings, all the responsibility for this team now lies with star-guard Austin Reaves.

In two games, Doncic has averaged a ridiculous 46.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game, and while there's no way to keep up numbers like that, this injury will certainly hold him back early in the year. At this point in time, there's no indication of just how serious these injuries are for Doncic, but the hope is that after a week, he can get back on the floor and continue leading this team to immense success in 2025–26.
