Kevin Garnett Says, "He's About to Be Something Different" About Young NBA Star

Kevin Garnett’s voice is one that everyone respects. Not just because it is usually the loudest, but because he has the experience and resumé to back it up. Garnett is an NBA Hall of Fame, 15-time All-Star, MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and NBA Champion.

So, when he lays praise on a young player, it is probably well deserved. Garnett doesn’t just give his stamp of approval to anyone, but when it comes to Victor Wembanyama, Garnett couldn’t hold back. After training a bit with him this summer, this is what Garnett had to say about what he is seeing from the French 21-year-old.

“He’s on a journey to seek knowledge… He’s changing the way we look at the five position. He’s changing how we lookin’ at the post position. Victor brings a different level of guard slash small forward to the big man position… If you think about it, he’s mixing finesse and force at the same time… He looks like KD and Shaq mixed together… He’s about to be something different that we have never seen.”

After spending the summer training with Shaolin monks, visiting NASA, and getting basketball and mentality tips from some of the greatest players of all time, Wembanyama is coming into this season even better than before.

The idea of a player who combines Shaq's power with KD's skill and finesse is really scary. If Wembanyama can stay healthy and continue to improve on the already scary skill set, Garnett is right. He will be something of the likes we’ve never seen before.
