ESPN Analyst Reveals the Major Offer From the Houston Rockets That Tari Eason Turned Down

The Houston Rockets have put together one of the biggest and most intriguing lineups in the NBA this season, and with so much talent, hopes are high in the loaded Western Conference. Despite giving away some key pieces in the trade to land Kevin Durant, they also kept some key names of the future, one of which is former No. 17 overall pick Tari Eason.

The 24-year-old has developed well in his three full seasons with Houston, averaging a career-high of 12.0 points a night a season ago along with six boards, two assists, and two steals per game. One would expect that could lead to a major extension for the talented forward, but according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, he turned down a deal that would pay him over $100 million.

In his piece, Windhorst suggests that the whole deal was not guaranteed, and perhaps that was the reason why they couldn't come to terms on an extension with a key piece of their future. At 6-foot-8, Eason is a force on both ends of the floor for Houston, playing a key role off the Rockets' bench, but with NBA title hopes in 2025–26, there's a chance that this could lead to a potential trade.

Unless he takes another step forward, however, there's a chance that this is the biggest offer Eason will have gotten on the open market, so now, we will see if the gamble from the 24-year-old pays off with a big contract in the near future.
